David A. Cole began his financial studies at the University of Tulsa, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a major in Accounting. He has been involved in the financial services industry since 1969. After having spent only five years practicing public accounting, he was elected to the partnership of KPMG Peat Marwick, where he eventually served on the firm’s national practice review committee, and designed and taught tax courses for both staff and management personnel.  David is a member of the Exit Planning Institute.

History

In 1980, David started his own financial consulting firm, and in 1992 it became the Tulsa office of the Financial Advisory Service, Inc., a fee-only, registered investment advisory firm. Southwest Financial Services, a similar firm, was added in 2004 to better serve Tulsa-based affluent clientele. Southwest Financial Services was sold on Jan. 1, 2012.

 

David is a member of many local, regional and national organizations, including the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
